These Criss-cross Braids Are Perfect for Festivals
Here’s a simple twist on Dutch braids that is perfect for summer festivals.
It’s just enough out-of-the-ordinary to gain attention, and will keep your hair out of your way so you can enjoy festival activities!
Tools and materials:
- Hair comb
- Hair elastics
1. Start with a Dutch braid
With your hair in a center part, take a small section of hair from the front, on one side of your part.
Divide the section into three equal strands, and make one simple braid turn.
Now, add hair to the sections to create a Dutch braid, and continue braiding.
When you get to the hair past your head, continue braiding a traditional braid.
Secure the bottom of your braid with a hair elastic, and repeat on the other side of your part.
2. Criss-cross your braids
Make a center part down the back of your head.
Gather the braid on your right side together with the hair on the left side of the back of your head.
Secure the gathered hair with a ponytail.
Now do the same with the braid on the left, and the rest of your hair from the right side of the back of your head.
3. Loosen your braid
Use your fingers to gently loosen your braids.
