Get a Voluminous Ponytail
Ponytails are a hairstyle staple for many because they are simple and convenient.
Follow along to learn how to take this go-to hairstyle one step further by creating a super voluminous ponytail with me.
Tools and materials:
- Hair tie
- Hairspray
- Backcomb brush
1. Collect your hair into a ponytail and twist the hair tie once
Collect all of your hair (aside from some face-framing strands) at the back. Pull all that hair through the hair tie, twisting it just once while holding it in place with one hand.
2. Halve your ponytail and finish securing the hair tie
Separate the top half of the tail with one hand.
Then twist the hair tie around just this top section of your ponytail 1-2 more times until tight (depending on the thickness of your hair).
Pull to spread and lift the ponytail.
3. Apply hairspray and backcomb
Hold up the top section of your ponytail and spray the underside with hairspray.
Then backcomb to add even more lift to your voluminous ponytail.
Use the backcombing brush to smooth down the outside of the ponytail if necessary.
That’s all there is to this super voluminous ponytail!
