I love glass beads and millefiori glass is so pretty and alluring I couldn’t resist trying out some hair slide making with them.

Hair slide base & glass beads

The little glass swirly coloured beads make for ideal design on a hair slide blank. I have red, blue and white ones. I test the size out before gluing and this size hair slide can fit three of them on. Larger bases are available online too.

Two part resin glue

I use two part epoxy resin glue which I mix in equal pea size blobs of hardener and of resin and spread an even layer on to the base hairslide. It’s time sensitive and as it sets hard with minutes don’t take too long!

Sticking to base

Sometimes it’s better to place the base on top of the beads to Center them it’s easier to see from underneath. I place them together touching and with equal little hang over the ends. Soon it’s set hard dry and so you only have a few minutes to adjust the placement if you need to before it sets hard.

I choose several same coloured versions of these pretty swirly glass beads but you can mix it up with whatever beads you might have in your stock. It gets addictive designing as so many design options!
