How to Create a Sophisticated Masquerade Hairstyle For Halloween
I love Halloween costumes but I’m not into scary masks, horror movies, darkness, and clowns. I found a masquerade mask at the party store for under $10 and created this masquerade hair look for my Halloween costume. I hope you like it and try it out for yourself.

Tools and materials:
- Hair pins
- Hair clips
- Hair tie
- Strong-hold hairspray
- Dollar store flower
- Masquerade mask
- Comb
- Curling iron
1. Section your hair
Section off your hair behind your ear on both sides of your head and clip those sections out of the way.
Gather the rest of your hair into a high, off-center ponytail.
2. Make a base hair bun
Gently twist your ponytail and tug on it to make it nice and full.
Tip: If you don’t have enough hair for this you can use a hair donut.
Roll your ponytail into a bun and pin it in place.
This bun doesn’t need to be neat and tidy because you are essentially just making a cushion to pin the rest of your hair into.
3. Curl your hair
Use a 1½-inch curling iron to curl sections of the sides of your hair back away from your face.
Split the front section of your hair into two – top and bottom. Curl that hair, in small sections at a time, alternating the curl right and left and curling downwards.
When you make the curls toward the center of your face and then pull all that hair away from your face, you will get much more volume than if you curled it all in the same direction you are going to pull it.
4. Pin your hair into the base bun
Start with a side section of your hair. Smooth out the section and bring it around the back of your bun.
Pin the section into the bun. Then spread the ends of the section over the front of the bun and apply strong-hold hairspray to hold it in place.
Repeat this step with the other side section of your hair.
Now take ½-inch-wide sections from the front of your hair and tease them to add volume.
Hairspray the last front section after teasing.
Roll the front section and place the ends right on top of the bun you already have.
Add hairspray and hair pins to secure the bun.
Do one final hairspray to keep it all in place.
5. Accessorize
Add a masquerade mask over your eyes and a big red masquerade flower to the side of your bun.
