Halloween Hair: Olympic Gymnast

In this tutorial, I’m going to show you a fantastic Halloween hairstyle inspired by Olympic gymnasts. That’s right!

I’ll demonstrate the look I would choose if I were an Olympic gymnast, and I think it makes a great Halloween style that you can complete with an Olympic outfit. Let’s dive right in!

Tools and materials:

  • Hair ties
  • Hair elastics
  • Blue and red hair extensions
  • Star clips
  • Hairbrush

1. Tie ponytails

Begin by gathering some of your hair and tying it into a bun at the top of your head.

Then, take the hair that’s left hanging down at the back and divide it into several sections.

Create small ponytails, stacking them one above the other, and secure each with an elastic.

2. Take hair extensions

Now, take some fake hair extensions in blue, red, and white to match the colors of the American flag.

3. Thread extension through hair

Take one of the hair extensions and carefully thread it through the hair behind the elastic of your bottom ponytail while keeping the other ponytails out of the way.

Make sure the extension hangs evenly on both sides.

4. Add second extension

Next, repeat the process with the second ponytail, this time using a blue hair extension to create an alternating color pattern.

If it’s easier, you can clip the other ponytails to the side of your head to keep them out of the way.

5. Split the hair

Every time you add a new extension, divide your hair into two sections.

Then, pull one section up over the ponytail on top and secure it with an elastic band.

6. Brush the hair

Smooth and brush your hair at the top to create a sleek look.

7. Twist hair

Take all your hair, split it into two sections, cross the sections over each other, and then twist them.

8. Make a bun

Wrap the hair around itself to create a bun. Then, secure it with a hair tie.

9. Add clips

The final step is to add some star clips to complete the stars and stripes American flag theme. The clips can also help to cover up any small kinks in your hair.

Here’s the finished look! I love the braided style that runs up the back of my hair, featuring alternating blue and red extensions.

The extensions come together beautifully in a big bun on top of my head. The star hair clips add the perfect finishing touch to complete the look.

Give this Halloween hairstyle a go for yourself!
