This Updo is Giving 90's Prom Vibes!
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create a stylish 90s hairstyle.
If you like 90s hair, this is perfect for you as we’ll be making a gorgeous, voluminous bun with a classic 90s prom vibe.
Follow along with my step-by-step instructions!
Tools and materials:
- Hair ties
- Bobby pins
- Rat tail comb
1. Tie a ponytail
Start by tying your hair in a ponytail.
2. Create a bun
On the final pull, don’t pull the ponytail all the way through. This will leave some of the hair in the ponytail, creating a bun.
3. Tie a ponytail
Then take another hair tie and tie the hair in a ponytail.
4. Create a hole
Open up the hair in between the bun and the ponytail to create a hole like so.
5. Twist hole
Then twist the hole by pulling one side over to the other.
6. Pull the bun through hole
Now, pull up the hole in the hair and slide the bun through it.
7. Insert bobby pins
Use bobby pins to secure your hair above the bun to keep it in place. Insert the bobby pins on both sides of your hair.
8. Stretch out the bun
Gently pull on the bun to stretch it out and make it more voluminous.
9. Comb hair
Finish off by combing your hair with a rat tooth comb to make it neat and tidy.
