Fourth of July Outfit Inspiration

The Fourth of July is around the corner, so it’s time to think about what to wear to get in the spirit.

Red, white and blue are always the perfect color combination for activities from picnics and barbeques to bar crawls and fireworks shows.

Here are a few ways to get in the spirit using what you may already have in your closet or a few new items you want to add to your wardrobe.

All-in Accessories

What accessories do you already have in your wardrobe that you can combine together to create a patriotic look? I had a red bandanna and red sneakers that I combined with my little white dress. (See other ways to wear a little white dress in my recent article.) A red, white and blue vintage chain belt is an accessory I pretty much only bring out for the 4th of July, and it’s the perfect addition to complete a party outfit for the day. Try adding a stars and stripes flag print or red, white and blue accessories to your wardrobe so you always have something you can pull out for last-minute Fourth of July backyard barbeque parties.

Shop patriotic hair accessory.

Dress It Up

Are you going somewhere a little dressy for the Fourth? A navy blazer is a wardrobe staple that can double as a festive holiday look. Pair it with a white T-shirt, cropped pants and red heels for a polished look for going out to dinner or professional gatherings. Shop navy blazer.

Seeing Stars

You can’t go wrong with star print anything in your outfit on the Fourth of July. Taking a cue from the good ol’ American flag and the stars of the 50 states, you’ll definitely be in the spirit with this look. I pair a navy, star-print skort, my go-to for Fourth of July dressing, with a red top and carefree, white slip-on sneakers for a look that’s ready for an outdoor concert or watching fireworks. Shop star print dress.

Now that you have some ideas for dressing for the Fourth of July, what will you wear?
