Never Lose a Hoop Again!
Sometimes a simple solution is the best way to solve a problem! If you're anything like me, one hoop from a pair of earrings always seems to disappear. Here's a quick and easy trick to never lose just one ever again. This is a trick I also use while travelling to keep my jewelry organized and neat.

Grab your favourite pair of hoops to try this out. Here are a few pairs that I have my eyes on: a) medium gold hoops; b) pearl hoop huggies; c) heart shaped hoops. Note: the earrings must fully close to create an unbreakable loop once clasped. This tutorial will not work for studs or open loop earrings, unfortunately.
Keep one hoop clasped close while opening the other one.
Combine the pair by slipping the closed hoop over the opening of the opened earring.
Now simply close the clasp of the second earring and you will have your pair secured. Make sure that the fastening is fully closed so that it does not come loose later.
I love using a compact jewelry case for travels, here's the one that I love to use (you can even customize the front with your initials!). If your case has a spot for clipping in earrings then this hack will allow you to double your storage options since you only have to add one earring per hole.
Let me know if you try this out and if you have any travel hacks that you use! Feel free to shop similar products to what I've used for this tutorial using the links in the text above. I have always done this when they are put away so ‘everyone’ stays with their partner. ;).
I would like to know how to keep the hoops on while wearing them. I can’t tell you how many earrings I (and my Mom) have lost while wearing them…some very nice and expensive ones. Most of the time you don’t even notice the earring is gone until you’re taking them off for the day and one is missing…UGH!
It’s funny….one thing I’ve noticed...it seems like the ‘cheaper’ earrings, that you don’t mind (as much) if they get lost, have much more substantial clips than the ‘better quality’ earrings. Go Figure. :)
I've done this many times, it works great. But I also use this hack for my stud earrings, but this only works for butterfly backs. Put the earring back on one stud, then put the post thru the attached butterfly back. Then attach the second butterfly back.
