Make a Crochet Tie With Me

A crochet tie is a quick way to add a fun touch to an outfit. It’s even better if you don’t have to actually crochet anything!

Tools and materials:

Materials

1. Materials

You’ll need a piece of material the same color as the lace. I used a scrap of quilted fabric.

Cut it into a tie shape.

Cut a rectangle from the lace fabric about 2.5 times the width of the finished tie and a little longer.

2. Wrap

Place your fabric on the lace so that the lace pattern is centered.

Wrap the lace around the base fabric and hold it in place with fabric glue.

3. Sew

Turn the tie over and top stitch all around the edge.

4. Channel

Turn over the top to hide the raw edge and sew it down, leaving the sides open for the ribbon tie.

5. Finish

Wrap a small piece of lace around the tie near the top, so it looks like a fake knot.

Thread a length of ribbon through the top channel.

To wear, wrap the ribbon around your neck under your collar and tie it at the back.

You can wear your tie with a jacket and shirt, but consider styling it with an unexpected fabric like denim.

Isn’t this more fun than taking out a crochet hook? It’s a lot easier too. Tell me what you think of it in the comments below.
