I enjoy making unique hair accessories from cute things I find and blank base accessories are available easily online to create and make yourself. It’s a great project to do with your kids or grandchildren. They are great to gift too.

Accessory base

I like the spring clips as they fit any hair so easily and there are so many options to create. Here I choose some resin floral pieces which simply glue into the little dish.

Mix glue

I use epoxy resin which is a two part glue ideal for this project. In a foil dish and using a wood stirrer, I mix a pea sized amount of both resin and hardener. Be careful not to get this on your fingers if so wash off quickly. Once mixed well I quickly dab a small blob onto the flower base and the inside little well.

It dries quite quickly so there is just a few minutes to complete positioning before it sets hard.

Glue base

I fit in the lovely orange flower. It sits snug and I hold it in place for a few minutes until stuck firm. I do a few more as it’s so quick and easy to do.
