Simple Inner Corner Eyeliner Tutorial
No matter what eye shape you have, today I'm going to show you some simple tricks to ace the finest inner corner eyeliner.
It looks so flattering, so I can't wait to show you how it's done. Without further delay, let's begin!
Tools and materials:
- Trimmer
- Brow pencil
- Concealer
- Makeup brushes
- Translucent powder
- Gel eyeliner
- Duraline
- Fine liner brush
- Pencil eyeliner
- Eyelash curler
- Mascara
- Blush
- Lipstick
1. Shave area
I have a very rounded inner corner, which is not sharp to begin with. I also have peach fuzz in the inner corner, which interferes with the liner.
So, what I like to do first is clear that hair with a small dual-blade trimmer.
I use the long blade for my facial hair or for my brows, and the shorter one is the one that I use for my inner corner or hard-to-reach areas.
I'm going to turn it on and very gently pull my skin, and then I'm going to shave the hair in the inner corner.
2. Fill in brows
Fill in the sparse areas of your brows, starting with the top portion of my brows using very fine hair-like strokes.
3. Apply concealer
Use a concealer to clean up underneath the brows. This will help to even out everything from the lid up to the brows.
Apply it with a flat concealer brush, doing very fine strokes.
4. Apply powder
Go in with some translucent powder to prevent the concealer from creasing.
5. Apply eyeliner to your top lids
Now take a gel eyeliner. Make sure it isn’t dry, otherwise, it's very difficult to draw fine strokes.
If it is dry, all you have to do is use a couple of drops of Duraline and mix it up to revive it, and it'll look brand new.
You also need a fine liner brush. Dip the brush into the eyeliner (mine is in a small pot) and stamp it onto your lash line.
Go all the way from the outer to the inner corner. Keep stamping it at your lash line using your lash line as a guide.
You don't have to pull a stroke or draw the liner on, all you have to do is stamp.
6. Wing the outer corner
For the outer wing, stamp once to extend your lower lash line. Then join it to your upper lash line and fill in the gaps.
That'll leave you with a fine-winged eyeliner.
7. Line the inner corner
Now for the inner corner, you first have to detect the center point of your inner corner.
Stamp the brush there one time and join it to the upper and lower lash line, again dipping the brush in the gel eyeliner.
Now connect the line that you just stamped to your upper and lower lash lines.
Just connecting it to the upper lash line in itself looks stunning, you don't have to do the lower lash line, but I’m going to connect it to the lower lash line as well.
8. Apply eyeliner
Line your waterline with a pencil eyeliner.
9. Apply mascara
Finish up the eyes by curling your lashes. Then apply some mascara.
I want my mascara to enhance my lashes with volume and length yet create a natural look.
10. Apply blush
Now apply some blush high up on your cheekbones, that way, it gives a lifted effect.
11. Apply lipstick
Then apply some lipstick. I went for a super stay lipstick that is budge-resistant and chose a shade that enhances my natural lip color.
Inner corner eyeliner look
Here's the finished look.
You can see how fine the liner is with that one trick of using the flat brush and stamping.
It works like magic every single time, even if you have shaky hands, you cannot go wrong with this technique.
