This is another great style for long, slightly wavy hair. It actually looks better and goes up more easily if your hair hasn’t just been washed.

Give it a try when you need an updo but don’t have much time!

Tools and materials:

  • Hair pins
  • 3 small claw clips
Preparing hair

1. Prepare your hair

Use your fingers to smooth all your hair back behind your shoulders.

Creating twist

2. Start the twist

Pull all your hair together into a low ponytail.

Grab your hair about 4 inches (10 cm) above the roots in one hand and bring it up towards the back of your head.

Start wrapping it between the index and middle finger of that hand to make a loop.

Hold on to the ends with the other hand.

Creating twist

3. Twist it up

Keep the loop of hair around your middle finger and twist it in a clockwise direction.

Pull on the loop as you twist it, so the twist gets longer as it gathers more hair into it.

Use your other hand to keep the twist close to your head.

Creating twist

4. Secure it

Keep twisting your hair firmly against your head until almost all the ends have been taken into the twist.

Tuck the top of the loop inside the twist.

Securing hair

Push the ends inside the twist and secure the twist to your head with some hair pins.

Decorating hair

5. Decorate it

Instead of the usual large claw clip, use three small ones to hold the twist in place and decorate it.

The finished style is casually chic. It doesn’t need to be perfect, in fact I think it looks better if it’s slightly messy.

Quick, easy and pretty! What do you think?
