1. Measure water
Pour 1 cup of water into a spray bottle.
2. Add sugar
Next, add 4 teaspoons of sugar to the bottle. If you need a super strong hold, add more sugar.
If you’re looking to add more texture to your hair, you can even add a bit of salt.
3. Add essential oil and shake (optional)
Add a few drops of lavender or your favorite essential oil scent to the mixture.
Then close and shake the bottle to mix well.
DIY hairspray
Now your easy, DIY hairspray is ready to use! Apply it generously to your hair.
This DIY hair product is great because you can make it using ingredients from your pantry and it doesn’t have a list of harmful components as would a store bought option.

We used to do this in the 80’s for our punk hairdos. It was the only way to get our hair to stick straight up. I believe it’s quite sticky, though.
