9 Easy & Super-Cute Bandana Hairstyles To Try Out This Summer
You probably have lots of bandanas laying around. Did you know that there are multiple ways to wear a bandana in your hair?
Follow this tutorial to learn a bunch of bandana hairstyles that you can try this summer. All of these bandana hairstyles can be worn with long hair, but some of them also work very well on short hair.
Tools and materials:
- Small and large square bandanas
- Ponytail holders
1. A bandana bun-wrap
Fold your bandana in half as a triangle. Then, from the widest end of the triangle, start folding the bandana in towards the tip. Keep folding until you reach the tip of the bandana.
Now, with your hair up in a bun, wrap the bandana around the top of your bun, then under your bun and back up to the top where you will tie it.
2. A bandana half-ponytail tie
Fold up your bandana just like you did in bandana hairstyle #1. With your hair in a half ponytail, wrap the bandana from underneath the ponytail and tie it on top.
Leave the ties of the bandana long to maximize the splash of color you’ve added to your hairstyle.
3. A bandana headband
Fold the bandana the same way as in the previous bandana hairstyles. Wrap the bandana from the back of your neck up to the top of your head and tie it in a knot. This is a great way to wear a bandana to keep your hair out of your face and keep you cool!
4. A bandana headband for short hair
Fold your bandana into a triangle, and then fold it in thirds, starting at the point of the triangle, and working towards the longest side. Pull your hair up into a ponytail.
Now wrap the widest part of the folded bandana around the back of your hair and bring the tapered ends to the front, top of your head. That wide section at the back will help to hold in any stray hairs you have, especially if you have short hair.
Now just tie the tapered ends of your bandana on top of your head.
5. A traditional bandana hairstyle
Fold your bandana in a triangle and lay it over the top of your head. Wrap the two ends of the bandana around to the back of your head and tie them in a knot.
To stay extra cool, you can pull your hair over the knot to keep your hair off your neck.
6. A soft bandana headband
With a large scarf folded in a triangle, simply roll it up and wrap it from under your hair at the back of your head, up to the top and back down again. Tie a knot at the nape of your neck. This makes a beautiful, soft headband.
7. A bandana high-ponytail tie
Put your hair in a high ponytail. Roll up your large scarf as you did in bandana hairstyle #6 and wrap it around your high ponytail a few times. Then knot it under your ponytail, leaving a bandana tail hanging.
8. A braided bandana
Braid your hair loosely from the nape of your neck to the bottom of your hair. Now weave your long scarf through the gaps in your braid.
Put the tail of the scarf inside the hair elastic at the bottom of your braid, to hold it in place.
9. A high-bun bandana wrap
From a half ponytail, make a high bun at the top of your head. Then wrap your long scarf around the base of the bun and leave the tails of the scarf hanging down.
