Here’s a quick and easy ponytail hack to transform your limp, droopy ponytail into a perky one.

Especially if you have thick hair, the weight of your ponytail can drag it down, so instead of looking bouncy it ends up looking a bit sad.

Try this really simple hack to perk it up!

1. Lean back

Brush through your hair thoroughly.

Lean your head back as you gather your hair together with both hands.

This automatically means your ponytail will be higher at the back of your head.

2. Make the ponytail

Grasp your hair together at the back of your head as high as you can.

Secure it with your ponytail tie as usual.

It looks “okay”, but nothing special.

Now for the magic!

3. Separate it

Separate your free hair into two sections, horizontally.

Bring the top section forward out of the way.

4. Pin it

Grab a U-shaped French style hairpin.

Holding it flat, push it into the lower section of your ponytail.

Angle the end you’re holding down towards your hair, then twist it upright. This will help secure it and also give some lift.

Now push the prongs straight down into your hair.

Release the top section of your hair and arrange it to cover the hairpin.
