DIY This Top - Super Easy Tutorial!
Here’s an unusual DIY top that’s super easy to make and looks a million dollars!
I used a sleeveless V neck tank top in an animal print and some lightweight flat gold pieces.
Follow along to make something stunning.
Tools and materials:
- Plain tank top
- Scissors
- Pins
- 3 flat pendants
- Hot glue gun
- Sewing machine
- Hand sewing needle and thread
1. Plan your design
I put five of the gold pieces together into a flower shape and spaced them out.
Decide how you want your finished top to look before you start cutting.
2. Cutting
Cut the front of the top straight up the middle.
Turn in a narrow hem on each cut edge. Pin and sew them in place.
3. Sewing
Try the top on and decide exactly where you want to place the gold decorations.
Pin the two sides together at those points.
Take off the top and hand sew the front edges together with five or six firm stitches.
4. Decorate
I used a hot glue gun to attach my gold pieces.
If you prefer, you can hand sew them in place.
Make sure the jewelry covers the previous hand stitching.
DIY top hack
With a few minutes work, you have a sexy, versatile DIY top.
You can place the gold pieces closer together for more coverage or further apart if you’re more daring than I am!
Either way, your top will be stylish and uniquely yours.
