I wanted to decorate a corset style top for a special event.
I ended up creating this stunning piece of jewelry out of the underwire from an old bra and some costume jewelry I bought for very little.
Sometimes you just need to look at things in a new way!
Tools and materials:
- Old underwired bra
- 2 half inch (1 cm) wide gate bracelets
- 2 gold chains with swivel clips
- 1 long gold chain
- Gold charms
- Jewelry findings
- Scissors
- Long nose pliers
- Hot glue gun
1. Base
Remove the underwire from an old bra.
Use a hot glue gun to attach a half inch (1 cm) wide gate bracelet to each cup.
Add a large bolt ring to the outer ends of each bracelet.
Glue a large charm or pin in the center to cover the join.
2. Back chains
Measure the width across your back.
Attach two chains to the ends of the bracelets.
Add a swivel clip to the end of each chain.
3. Neck chain
Measure from one side of your bra up behind your neck and down to the other side.
Cut a chain to this length and attach it to the end of the bracelet on each side.
4. Decorate
Plan a design of gold charms to hang from the lower edge of the bracelets.
Attach the charms with bolt rings.
Upcycled old bra into cute and glam accessory
Put the long chain over your head and clip the shorter ones together at the back.
You have a stunningly unique piece of jewelry!
