Here is an easy and quick hack for using your own hair to create the look of a hairband.

Tools and materials:

Sectioning the hair

1. Start with a part

Section of the front of one side of your hair, creating a vertical part from the top of your head to the top of your ear.

2. Create another section

From the back section of your hair, separate out the lower part from the top, creating a new section.

Clip the upper back section of hair back, so it’s easy to work with the two front sections.

3. Make a faux hairband

Cross-cross the front sections of hair.

Then criss-cross a second time, bringing the front section straight back.

Use a bobby pin to clip that front section under the rest of your hair at the back of your head.

Now, release the large first section of hair you clipped back, so that it falls over your cross-crossing.
