How to Make a Pretty Pendant From Recycled Crockery
I love to recycle old unwanted crockery into jewellery. It’s a good way to reduce landfill and have a unique durable piece of pretty to wear love and gift. It’s especially nice if there’s a family heirloom of dinner service that can
I search through and sort out what would make some lovely jewellery. I use wheeled tile nippers to begin cutting up some
of the china crockery pieces.
I often put an elastic band around the handles to prevent the spring popping out and helps to keep some springy tension.
Once I’ve cut the piece it’s time to sand the edges smooth. Also the back of the china which helps the brooch pin to stick fast.
I use epoxy resin to glue the pin fastening by mixing two equal pea sized blobs annd mixing well before adding a layer on to the china and a layer on to the pin and holding it together for a few minutes. Soon it’s hardened and secure.
It is soon ready to wear and the possibilities are unless for designs. This is from Alice in Wonderland vintage crockery. Cute tweedle Dee and tweedle dum!
