Is This The Best Eye Makeup Look for Women Over 50?!

Hello! Today, I'm excited to share with you how I apply my favorite eye makeup colors. I may be biased, but I think this is the very best eye makeup for women over 50.

I’m wearing a navy blue and white polka dot top, so I’ll be doing my eyes in a complementary blue shade. Let's get started!

The products I'm using today are from the Look Fabulous Forever range, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of product.

Tools and materials:

1. Apply eyeliner

First, I apply a bit of navy blue eyeliner along my lash line. I start with eyeliner because I prefer a subtle effect.

This step helps my eyelashes look thicker and defines my eyes, making them appear bigger.

To apply, gently draw a line along the lash line on both eyes. Don’t worry about precision. You can adjust and correct mistakes with a cotton bud.

2. Add lid color

Next, I use a lilac eyeshadow to make my eyes pop. Using a magnifying mirror, I apply a little bit of the color in the inner corners of my eyes. Then, I use a clean, small brush to smooth it along the lid.

3. Apply the main eyeshadow

Now, it's time for my favorite blue color. Using a brush, I start applying it from the outside and move inward towards where I applied the lilac color. I apply it to the lid and slightly above.

Once the color is on, I use a round blending brush to blend it in thoroughly, taking it above the eye. I’m not very skilled at using a pad underneath my eye, so I mop up any spills with a tissue afterward.

4. Define with a darker shade

To further define my eyes, I use a wedge brush with midnight blue. This color complements the lilac and blue colors perfectly.

I tidy up the lash line and add a bit of midnight blue to the outside corners of my eyes to give them a more defined look. After checking and adjusting as needed, I move on to the next step.

5. Curl your lashes

I always curl my lashes because I wear glasses for reading, and this helps keep my long eyelashes away from the lenses.

Though eyelash curlers can seem daunting at first, they are quite simple to use. I give my lashes a few squeezes on each side.

6. Apply mascara

Finally, I use a lovely black waterproof mascara. Since my eyes water a lot, waterproof mascara is essential.

This mascara leaves my eyelashes feeling soft, not hard or stiff. One coat is usually enough for me, but you can apply more if needed.
