Try This Hack to Shorten Your Purse Strap
I love wearing shoulder purses but sometimes the strap is just too long for my outfit.
While leather or fabric straps may have adjustable slides, chains rarely do. And knotting them to make them shorter never looks right.
This hack works on almost all straps but is especially cute and effective with a chain strap. So follow along to find out how to shorten a purse strap in seconds!
1. Inside the bag
Lift the flap of the bag.
Cross the two sides of the chain over under the flap.
Pull the chain taut evenly, so the crossover on the inside is centered.
2. Outside the bag
Bring the chain to the outside of the bag and cross it again over the flap.
3. Loop the chain
Hold the two sides of the chain together on the outside with one hand.
Pass the strap loop over the bag flap.
How to shorten a purse strap
Pull the loop taut and your shoulder bag is ready to use!
There are no ugly knots in the chain and the bag looks like it was designed this way.
Even better, you can go back to wearing it full length whenever you want.
