Here's what you need to make Felt Envelope Sleeve

Here's how to create a Table Holder from Felt

STEP ONE

Gather all supplies. Lay out one half yard of Smoke Kunin® Premium™ Felt on your work surface. Use the 90-degree angle of a triangle ruler to ensure that your felt is totally square.

For a standard tablet, measure a rectangle of that is 12” wide and 22” long using a white chalk pencil on the dark grey Smoke Kunin® Premium™ Felt. Make additional marks along the long length at 9”, 18” and 19” with the chalk pencil. This tablet is an iPad 7. Use paper to create a pattern that is perfectly sized for your tablet or eReader.

STEP TWO

To create the triangular envelope shape, mark a dot at the 6” center point of the 12” width, and then connect the dots from the 19” mark to the center using a ruler and chalk pencil.

For a bit of whimsy, cut out the Smoke Kunin® Premium™ Felt Envelope Tablet Holder with scallop pinking shears. You can also use straight scissors for a more modern look. Fiskars Pinking Shears are a favorite for cutting all types of fabric including felt.

STEP THREE

Fold the straight 12” wide edge up to the 18” chalk mark and secure both edges with straight pins. This creates the pocket that the tablet or reader will fit in.

Sew both pinned edges on a sewing machine fitted with coordinating thread at a 5/8” seam allowance. Remember to backstitch at the beginning and end to secure the envelope. The black thread virtually disappears on the Smoke Kunin® Premium™ Felt. Hand stitching and/or fabric glue will work for this project if you do not have a sewing machine. I love this SINGER Heavy Duty Sewing Machine, which is portable and sews through all thicknesses of fabric including felt.

STEP FOUR

Measure and cut a 1 ½” length of VELCRO Hook and Loop Tape. Cut apart the hook side from the loop side, secure together, and remove the liner paper from one side to expose the adhesive.

Press firmly onto the top center of the envelope flap to secure, remove the liner paper from the second side and fold the envelope flap closed. This allows the two pieces of VELCRO hook and loop tape to line up perfectly every time!

STEP FIVE

Select a rainbow assortment of buttons to decorate the envelope flap of the tablet pouch. Dry-fit the buttons, until you are pleased with the composition. Mix and match colors.

Thread all six strands of black embroidery floss onto the embroidery needle. Sew the rainbow buttons onto the envelope flap of the tablet holder. Secure each button with several stitches and a knot in the back.

Playing Card Holders

Make family game night even more fun with DIY Playing Card Holders. My niece has a hard time with a handful of cards in her little hands, so I created these colorful holders to make card games more comfortable. One of our favorite games is UNO and sometimes you can end up with a bunch of cards. We love our playing card holders because they make playing games effortless and fun. And, it’s easy to see all the cards.

Easy Harry Potter Pillow

When I asked my favorite Harry Potter fan (aka my niece Josie) what craft we could make for her bedroom, she said a Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Pillow. Created with Kunin® Classic™ Felt, some Poly-Fil from Fairfield World, and fun antique gold trim in about an hour.

Tooth Fairy Monster Pillows

Losing teeth can be kinda scary, so a fun Tooth Fairy Monster Pillows for Boys and Girls can be helpful in easing the kiddos into this transition. My favorite Kunin Brabd Felt and a few buttons plus Poly-Fil® from Fairfield World make this project quick and easy. I even created a free printable pattern to make this project even easier for you.
