Tools and materials:

Tracing around a water bottle

1. Trace

Grab your towel and your water bottle. Lay the towel on a flat surface. Place your water bottle standing on the towel and trace the bottom.

Circle towel piece

Add an additional ¼ of an inch around the traced circle for seam allowance. Cut that piece.

Measuring the water bottle

2. Measure

Measure the circumference of the bottle as well as the height. Then measure and mark that on the towel and cut it out.

Folding towel piece

Fold that piece in half with the right sides facing in and sew the edges together making a tube shape that fits the bottle.

Pinning towel piece

3. Sew

Pin and sew the circle of fabric for the bottom to the other piece with the right sides facing in.

Sewing towel

Then turn it right side out. Fold the top edge in ¼ of an inch and sew the seam.

Making the strap

4. Strap

Cut a strip of fabric from along the length of the towel that’s about 4-5 inches wide. Fold in half lengthwise with right sides facing in.

Making the strap

Sew along the length, then use a safety pin to turn it right side out.

Making the strap

Sew the straps on the inner edges of the bag.
