Hi everyone. Do you love a Halloween costume with a tiara? If so, this tutorial is for you!

Tools and materials:

  • Zip ties
  • Headband
  • Lace
  • Fake roses
  • Jewelry charms
  • Patches
  • Gems
  • Spray paint
  • Glitter
Attaching zip ties

1. Attach zip ties to the headband

Starting with one in the center, attach zip ties to a headband that slowly fan out an angle from the center.

Gluing lace

2. Glue a corner piece of lace

Cut out a corner piece of lace in a rounded edge to match the headband.

The corner piece should match up with the center of the headband. Hot glue the piece to the zip ties.

Gluing lace

3. Glue a scalloped piece of lace

Hot glue a second piece of lace just above the first. This one has a more scalloped edge.

Whatever lace you choose, make sure it’s visibly different so you have some contrast between the two lace pieces.

This will add an interesting texture.

Adding flowers

4. Hot glue fake roses

Hot glue fake roses onto the bottom lace piece. Depending on the size, you’ll have one in the center, and an equal amount on both sides.

Adding charms

5. Glue charms to the scallops

Glue a jewel or charm in each scallop of the topmost piece of lace. I left the last scallop on both sides empty.

Adding long patches

6. Place long patches

Attach long patches so one points at the charm in the center, and the rest sit between the other charms. I used some that are laurel-shaped.

Cutting zip ties

7. Cut the zip ties

Cut the zip ties around the lace, alternating between short and long sizes.

Gluing gems

8. Glue gems to the zip ties and lace

Glue gems so they cover the zip ties. I also added some gems that followed the general pattern of the lace I used.

Spray painting

9. Spray paint

Spray paint the entire headpiece with black spray paint.

Adding glitter

10. Sprinkle gold glitter

Sprinkle gold glitter onto the roses.

I love this! It was pretty before you spray painted it. :)

If one doesn't have "pretty" beads/gems, spray painting it would hide any color variations.

    Brava on a cool idea!
