Tools and materials:
- Oversized silk button-down shirt
- Bandeau or bralette
- Wide brim hat
1. Wear as usual
Wear your silk button down as usual, leaving the bottom 2 buttons open for easy maneuvering. Your first layer should be a bandeau or bralette that might show some in the back.
2. Pull your arms in
Pull your arms out of the sleeves and inside the body of the shirt. Drape the sides of the shirt over your shoulders.
3. Pull the neck of the shirt up onto your head
Pull the neck of the shirt up behind your head so that the collar sits on top. I know this looks silly but trust the process!
Tuck the collar inward for a smooth seam. We’re getting there!
4. Cross the sleeves and tie them behind your neck
Cross the sleeves in front like a scarf.
Pull them to the back and tie them behind your neck.
5. Adjust
Make minor adjustments like showing some face-framing hair and draping the fabric on your shoulders.
Close another button at the bottom.
6. Accessorize
Tuck in the front of the top. Then add a wide brim hat and statement sunglasses to complete this balaclava blouse hack.
