In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to make a super cute accessory made from Dollar Store rope!

This DIY is so easy to do and costs next to nothing, so grab your tools, and let’s get started!

Tools and materials:

  • Craft cord
  • Parcel tape
  • Scissors
  • Comb

1. Get craft cord

Start by getting some craft cords from your local Dollar Store. For this project, you need three cords, and you want them to be quite long.

2. Tie together

Tie them together at one end with a knot like so.

3. Stick knot down

Stick the knot down to a work surface with some strong parcel tape.

Braiding the rope

4. Braid rope

Now braid the rope together all the way down to the bottom.

Cutting the rope

5. Tie knot

Then tie a knot at the other end and trim off any excess rope with scissors.

Combing the rope

6. Comb out ends

Comb out the ends on both sides to get rid of any tangles.

Now you’re ready to style your belt! Simply thread it through your belt steps and then tie it at the front in a bow.

I absolutely adore the shabby bohemian aesthetic that it creates. Who would have thought that some dollar store rope could be turned into something so trendy and chic?
